01Do I need to book a table in advance?
On Friday and Saturday, yes: by nightfall there are hardly any free tables left. On weekdays you can usually just walk in, but a call an hour ahead saves the evening.
Book with the “Book a table” button: the evening, the time, the number of guests and, if you like, a table on the room plan. A table on the plan is a wish: the final seating is decided by the host so that parties fit in whole. We call back and confirm within the hour. No deposit is needed, a booking can be cancelled by phone or in your account, and the table is held for 15 minutes past the booked time. A party of more than 12 is booked by phone: +375 29 2 855 855.
02Can I take the whole bar: a company party, a birthday, a private event?
Yes. The vaulted room, the games room down the corridor and the bar can be taken over completely: a company party, a birthday, a get-together, a shoot. In summer the terrace on pedestrian Sovetskaya Street joins them.
Every event has terms of its own: the date, the time, the menu, the hookahs and the run of the evening are worked out by the host together with the manager. Call +375 29 2 855 855 or leave a booking request with a note that the evening is private — we will call back and cost it out.
December and the company-party weeks are taken early: the sooner you ask, the more dates you can choose from.
03Do you do off-site hookahs?
Yes, it is a service of its own. We come with our own hookahs, tobaccos and hookah masters: a wedding, a company party, a birthday, a shoot, an evening out of town. We work across Grodno and the region.
The master keeps the hookahs going all evening: builds the flavour for each guest, changes the coals, watches the bowls — all you provide is the venue. The estimate is made for the occasion: how many guests, how long the evening runs, how far we travel. We work it out and agree it by phone: +375 29 2 855 855.
04Not everyone in the party smokes hookah — what is there for the rest?
The bar and the kitchen. More than twenty signature cocktails, lemonades, smoothies and milkshakes, loose-leaf tea and coffee; from the Polyana City kitchen — craft burgers, soups, salads, meat and fruit platters, desserts. A hookah is not compulsory.
Down the corridor is the games room: a PlayStation and eighteen board games, from a quick round to a strategy for the whole evening. The host will pick a game — just say how many you are and how much time you have.
05Where to see prices
Tea, coffee, signature cocktails and food are in the online menu. The full price list is on the table and opens by the QR code in the room; there is no second price list: what is on the menu is what is on the bill.
The club card returns 5% of every bill as points, and points can cover up to 30% of a bill. The card lives on your phone: your number is enough to join.
06What kind of hookah can I order?
The house one, a fruit bowl instead of a clay one, and the premium tobacco range. The master builds the flavour to suit your mood: say what you feel like — sour, sweet, with a chill, stronger or softer — and the rest is the master’s work.
Strength, favourite flavours and your table are remembered by the club card: the second time round your name is enough.
07How do I find the entrance, and can I drive up to it?
Sovetskaya is pedestrian: you cannot drive up to the door, the last stretch is on foot either way — five minutes from the square.
Look for No. 25: a gate in the fence, a courtyard behind it, the Hookah Place sign above the stairs down, a porch and four more steps. The courtyard entrance is no accident: Smokkin was built as a secret bar — a public place with secrets for those in the know.
08What is the age limit?
From 18: the bar is for adults, and the host may ask for ID. Minors are not admitted even with their parents — people smoke in the room and there are spirits on the list.
